Ninth Circuit Tosses Experian Settlement, Chides Lawyers Over Conflict The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has thrown out a $45 million settlement with Experian and two other credit-reporting agencies, saying plaintiff lawyers created an unacceptable conflict of interest by negotiating a deal where their named clients would receive $5,000 apiece as long as they didn't object to far smaller awards for the other class members.
